Background: Kabelo Faith Matlala is a dedicated and highly qualified pharmacist with a
strong foundation in clinical research. Kabelo holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from
the University of Limpopo, obtained in 2021, and is registered with the South African
Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
Professional Experience: Kabelo has amassed diverse experience in the pharmaceutical
field, working across various institutions such as Gole Biomed Research Centre and St Rita’s
Hospital. Her roles have ranged from an intern pharmacist to a community service
pharmacist and eventually, a fully-fledged pharmacist. At Khomanani Research Centre,
Kabelo applies her extensive knowledge to her role as a Pharmacist and Clinical Trial
Project Associate, where she oversees the pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials.
Clinical Research Contributions: Kabelo has played a pivotal role in several key clinical
trials. Her expertise has been instrumental in trials such as the Phase 3 randomized, double
blinded, placebo-controlled trial for a Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine and a
Phase 1/2/3 protocol investigating the safety and immunogenicity of variant-adapted
BNT162B2 RNA-based vaccines in children. Her meticulous attention to detail and
commitment to quality ensure that these trials are conducted with the highest standards.
