Khomanani Health Research & Wellness Centre is a state-of-the-art research facility located in a rural village in the Limpopo Province of South Africa — a province historically without a significant clinical research footprint. The site is located at Farm No: B 23 Thandavhalwe HA Masia, via R578 Ka-Majosi, Collins Chabane Municipality, Masia-Majosi Village, Limpopo, South Africa. To serve a diverse range of entities, from pharmaceutical companies to governmental and non- governmental organisations, while also providing vital community healthcare services and training opportunities for future clinical research professionals..

Our Range Services

The site is staffed by a dynamic team that includes both experienced and newly trained professionals. The team comprises of six doctors, specialists Physician, Cardiology, Paediatrician, four pharmacists, two study nurses, etc. The team brings over 20 years of combined experience in the implementation of Phase II to Phase IV clinical trials, across a wide range of therapeutic areas.
The site is uniquely located within a 50 km radius of 49 villages, 28 primary health centres, and four public hospitals, with no competing research sites nearby. This strategic position enables access to a diverse population (48.3% male, 53.8%female) and supports recruitment for studies on both communicable and non-communicable diseases, including HIV, TB, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, influenza, malaria, and other vaccine-preventable illnesses common in Limpopo Province.
The site comprises of SAHPRA compliant emergency trolley and calibrated equipment’s, laboratory-grade equipment, including a -80°C freezer, 2–8°C pharmacy fridge, centrifuges, ECG machine, BP monitors, digital scale, etc. The facility has four consultation rooms, monitoring room, boardrooms, pharmacy, Laboratory, additional observation and waiting area. There is IT infrastructure, solar power, a 25kWV generator, secure filing, boardroom, toilets, kitchen, offices and space for future upgrade for overnight stays.
Contribute to the development of patients' health literacy. Through education, awareness campaigns, and community engagement programs, we aim to empower individuals with the tools to understand and address their health needs effectively.
We strive to identify gaps in healthcare services and work towards bridging them by leveraging technology, telemedicine, and community outreach programs. We aim to provide access to essential healthcare services in the community we operate, ensuring everyone has equitable opportunities to receive timely and quality care.
A training facility for health sciences postgraduate students from nearby universities, offering them opportunities to gain practical research experience in health research and clinical trials to advance their academic and professional development. We partner with local universalities to offer these services.
